Savira Kambhu, LPCC
I provide Telehealth therapy for adults struggling to be the best version of themselves. I focus on helping you unlock your strengths and process past challenges that hold you back from living the life you want. I specialize in emotional symptoms, trauma, ADHD, and addictive behaviors. If you have tried to figure things out on your own and couldn’t, I’m here to help.
My process involves exploring your thoughts and emotions about issues that bother you, identifying unhelpful patterns that keep you stuck, and collaborating with you to change them. I believe that lasting and meaningful changes only happen when we engage the whole brain in the process, so I use talk therapy in combination with emotion-focused, relational, and somatic approaches. My background in Buddhism, mindfulness, social advocacy, and improv comedy significantly informs my work. I aim to meet you where you are and collaborate with you on an approach that works best.
Therapeutic modalities that inform my work include Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family System (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I believe that how we feel about each other is the most important ingredient in therapy, which is why I offer a free 20-minute consultation to see if we would be a good fit before we work together.
I have vast experience working with marginalized communities, particularly BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people. I find that recognizing the impact that social injustices have on our well-being empowers us to love ourselves and helps decrease shame. I have experience working with clients from different backgrounds and identities. It is a true passion of mine to help people feel accepted and validated in a society that marginalizes us.
I grew up in Bangkok and moved to the US when I was thirteen. My experience with relocation and culture shock taught me a lot about human resilience and adaptability. Growing up in a predominantly white city like Portland, OR, I learned how a lack of representation, guidance, and understanding of how racial and cultural identities negatively impacted my self-understanding and self-perception. I also learned about the importance of community support and self-advocacy.
I only provide services via Telehealth. I am in-network with the following insurance providers: Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Health Partners, Hennepin Health, Medica, Medical Assistance (MA), UCare, and United Healthcare. I offer a free 20-minute consultation call to see if we would be a good fit before working together, so please reach out.

Therapy for People with ADHD
A Semi-Structured Approach. Many people with ADHD appreciate a therapist who helps guide them in conversations to focus on things that really matter. They appreciate redirecting when they get lost in their own thoughts. They want to make sure that the session is productive, that they get to address important issues before it ends. I will collaborate with you on a structure that works for you while leaving enough room for flexibility for times when we need to be more free-flowing.
Therapy plus coaching. There are times when we want to process our feelings, and times when we want concrete and actionable tools to change our patterns, fix our problems, and prevent the same mistakes from happening again. Coaching includes assessing the skills you need to manage your ADHD symptoms and life’s tasks better, and learning how to practice and enhance these skills.
Someone who understands. It is a focus in my practice to continue to expand my understanding of how ADHD impacts life’s challenges, your self-perception, and your emotional symptoms, as well as the latest treatments that include medication, nutrition, and lifestyle changes. This holistic approach empowers you to work with and take charge of your ADHD rather than struggle with it.
