FAQ

Answers to questions you may be having about getting starting at Gaja or therapy in general

I know I want to go to therapy but I'm not sure what to talk about.

That's perfectly okay! You can work with your therapist to develop meaningful goals to work towards. If you know you're ready for change, growth, or going deeper in your healing journey, that is all that is needed to be ready for therapy.

Good Faith Estimate

How often should I go to therapy?

Most people benefit from weekly therapy. We recommend starting therapy at a weekly pace for at least 2-3 months with a new therapist before reducing frequency in order to establish a working relationship and have a clear understanding of your therapy goals. Depending on your unique situation (therapy needs, goals, and finances), you may see your therapist weekly, every other week, or monthly. Some people may benefit from attending therapy more frequently that once a week. You and your therapist will work collaboratively to determine the right frequency for you. This is also something that can change throughout the course of your therapy journey.

We do our absolute best to ensure that there are no cost surprises. We provide a good faith estimate prior to starting therapy services. Although Gaja has a standard fee ($200/session; $250/intake), our contracted rates with insurance companies vary by insurance. Before your first session, we will provide you an estimate of what you can expect but it is also your responsibility to reach out to your insurance company to find out about your deductible and copay.
